The story behind the name
A sporty keelboat for a crew of maximum three persons used in Olympic sailing competitions from 1972 until the 2000 Games held in Sydney. It is a widespread boat class internationally. Although the Soling, with more than half of its overall weight concentrated in the keel, is a true keelboat, because it is secure against capsizing, in many respects is sails like a yawl. The shape of the hull and keel allow the boat to go high into the wind when travelling upwind. There is a half model specially handcrafted for us in the cabin.
