The story behind the name

The boats that seduced the world. The Riva is the success story of a timeless style - exclusivity and prestige in balance with tradition and innovation. Celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot, Gunter Sachs, Richard Burton, Aristoteles Onassis, Sean Connery, Sophia Loren and Prince Rainier are among those to fall under the spell of a Riva. Under the leadership of Carlo Riva the Riva made a name for itself internationally in the 1950s. It was he who invented the sport boats. His most significant creation is the legendary Aquarama, made entirely of mahogany, first introduced in 1962 and until 1996 offered in three models: the Super Aquarama (1963-1971), the Aquarama Lungo (1972) and the Aquarama Special (1972-1996). The model in the cabin is an Aquarama Special, specially made for us by the Riva shipyard in Sarnico. There are also two technical drawings of this model.
